Keyword Cruncher Review

I received an email from a nice guy called Marty Knapp who told me about a keyword tool he has developed called Keyword Cruncher. One interesting fact was that software was available in both PC and Mac versions. This is fantastic news for Apple fans as often they are left in the cold with many of the Internet marketing tools that released.

He sent me a copy and I checked it out.

My Experience

Keyword Cruncher is a tool that works in conjunction with the Wordtracker service. I like tools that work with keyword sources other than the commonly used Overture (Yahoo!) Research tool.

I loaded it up and quickly found that it is very similar in concept to the Keyword Results Analyzer for Wordtracker (KRA-WT) tool by Dr Andy Williams. Basically the gist of it is to give you more power to manipulate your Wordtracker results.

I generated 400 keywords for my example phrase of fly fishing using Wordtracker. I loaded them into Keyword Cruncher using a similar cut and paste method to KRA-WT.

Many portal builders use the features in this kind of software to drill down to try and locate low competition keywords. To demonstrate this tool, I mirrored this methodology on my 400 keywords. I set it up to try and locate phrases that were searched for more than twice a month, and had fewer than 10 competing pages (so it will always be on the front page of the SERPS).

Out of 400 keywords I was able to find 23 suitable keyword phrases.

Keyword Cruncher also allows you to sort, print, and combine keyword lists together to create huge data sets.

This tool is pretty focused on what its intended purpose is. Consequently you won’t find any other features beyond providing a more powerful way to manipulating your Wordtracker data. However it does this well, and for 37 bucks it is well priced. So is it better than KRA-WT? Well it does a very similar job at nearly half the price. But KRA-WT does have some good support and advice attached to it so if you are a newbie perhaps fork out for the extra help. Experienced campaigners won't need to.

This software is only for people who have a Wordtracker account. Essentially it extends the ability to use the Wordtracker data more effectively and get more value from your subscription.
